“Face-to-Face Exchange with Experts”—Luo Bing, Deputy General Manager of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd., gives a lecture in SCE

The meeting of “Face-to-Face Exchange with Experts”was held in No.2 Lecture Hall of Southwest Jiaotong University (SWJTU) at 4:00 pm, March 26, 2021. The participants of this exchange meeting included Luo Bing, Deputy General Manager of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd., Zhu Zhihu, Deputy Chief Economist and Minister of Human Resources, Zhu Yuliang, Director of Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge of China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd. (CRCC), Liu Xueyi, Party Committee Secretary of SCE, and Deputy Secretary Zhou Xi. This exchange meeting was hosted by Liu Ping, Secretary of the Youth League Committee of SCE.

Before the meeting, Mr. Zhu and Mr. Zhou on behalf of both sides signed the school-enterprise cooperation agreement.

Subsequently, Mr. Luo gave a lecture on Scientific and Technological Innovation of Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, introducing the bridge from three aspects: engineering construction review, scientific and technological innovation research and major achievements. Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge not only has important value for its good location, but is also characterized by being high, large and new as this bridge is large in its project quantity, cooperation scale, span as well as new in its materials, structure, equipment, technology and so on. As the saying goes, just as polishing makes jade finer, building high bridges also needs great trials and tribulations. In the process of building Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, a series of scientific research achievements have also been made, among which included 45 patents, over 230 papers, 4 software copyrights, etc. At the end of his lecture, Mr. Luo said the completion of Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge marked that China had fully mastered the technology of constructing cable-stayed bridges with span length of kilometer span.

Then students watched the video of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. After that, Mr. Zhu, on the one hand, introduced the basic information of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. to the students from four aspects: the introduction of the enterprise, technical contribution, talent cultivation and university-enterprise cooperation. On the other hand, Mr. Zhu elaborated technical contribution and talent training of China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. from its performance, bridge structure, bridge construction equipment, bridge construction technology, bridge research, training measures and projects. Mr. Zhu also hoped to take the school-enterprise cooperation as an opportunity to expand the breadth and depth of cooperation, and further strengthen personnel training, academic exchanges, scientific research cooperation and so on.

In the end, the students took active part in asking questions; Mr. Luo and Mr. Zhu answered them and solved some puzzles, hoping the students from SWJTU to join China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. in the future.
